Right side head pain

Right side head pain

I'am a 29yr old male who has been suffering with dull but painfull pains in the right side of my head . The pain is constant and i have had them for 8 days . I feel pressure from behind my right eye , looking at bright light is painful also . I have had no history of headaches . My GP has given me Sumatriptan 50mg tablets which are not helping in anyway also i am taking paracetamol on a regular basis . My GP thinks the pains are a Migraine but i am worried more now as the pains are getting worse . Sleep is being affected and so is my personality . Please advise if possible Thanks

How are you? What are other symptoms present? Are you stressed lately?  A migraine is a throbbing pain that is felt only on one side of the head. It is also often accompanied by other signs and symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, and extreme sensitivity to light and sound. On the other hand, a tension headache may cause you to experience a dull, achy pain or sensation of tightness in your forehead or at the sides and back of your head which can be felt occasionally, or nearly all the time.. Many people liken the feeling to having a tight band of pressure encircling their heads. Some people with tension headache experience neck or jaw discomfort; tenderness on your scalp, neck and shoulder muscles; difficulty sleeping;  fatigue; irritability; loss of appetite and difficulty concentrating. A few people with tension headache experience an increased sensitivity to light or sound, but this isn't a common symptom. Mixed tension migraine is a headache with features of both tension and migraine headaches. It has features of both types of headaches and it is difficult to differentiate which symptoms are migrainous and which are tension related. It is good to see your doctor for full medical and neurological exam. Avoiding triggers and taking the appropriate medicine prescribed by your doctor can help manage headache symptoms in many people. This link may be helpful:

Hi,

Headache which gets worse on bending down and accompanied with eye ache suggest the possibility of sinusitis which occurs due to inflammation of sinuses. I would advise you to take steam inhalation for 3-4 times a day and see if it makes your headaches any better.
Also are you allergic to anything like a food item or even weather?
Allergies can also cause headaches. Do keep us posted.
