confusional migraine?

getting back to VanessaMD after most recent allergy test, neck and head MRI. No one can ever find anything. How long does it take to replace blood? I'm small - 113 lbs, AB+, healthy, so I figure my body makes this rare blood, I need to donate it. I do, after each 8 weeks in between.
I have no health problems except for these confusional migraines (what I'm calling them). I don't always have nausea, but in January, I got very nauseous, couldn't work. Just wanted to sleep and escape it.
Dr. Kellas at the Center for Advanced Medicine mentioned on his radio show "Health Talk" that there can be psychological causes for migraines.
Anyway suggestion? How else can I test for this? I've been dealing with this for over ten years.
Thank you.

I'm not taking any medications.

I'm looking at everything to rule things out so I listen to any ideas. I've been under worse stress than now, but the migraines still happen.  Everyone knows fatigue, frustration, and some anxiety, but I doubt I carry it around for too long without being expressive in a healthy way.

As healthy as I am, I haven't looked at one thing, and that's my regular blood donation. I was fine until a few days after I donated. I need to keep up with the iron/folic acid/B12 afterwards. I was on the edge of the iron count this last time, and I should have taken it a lot easier afterwards for a few days. I called the blood bank today and they said it varies in how long it takes a person's body to remanufacture a pint of blood after donating.  I think I'm going to check this issue out.

Thank you for your ideas.

Hi,

Migraines may  be due to a lot of factors .There may be genetic and vascular factors. Psychological factor plays a role by acting as a stressor or a trigger. Repressed emotions, fatigue, frustration, anxiety and depression may eventually lead to migraines and vice versa.

Migraines are given as a diagnosis when all other conditions have been ruled out. In your case, this appears to be migraine given that your examinations appeared to be normal.
If this is the case, it is important to determine the trigger. Nausea and vomiting are present in migraines. If diet plays a role here, then modifying the diet will be able to help. If weather is a trigger then taking preventive or abortive medications will be able to help.

Testing for migraine would mean testing for other diseases and ruling these out. It is more like a  diagnosis of exclusion but then again migraine headaches do follow a certain criteria.

I hope I am able to answer your question here.

Are you taking any medications?
