Welcome to the Migraine and Headaches Forum! This forum is for questions and support regarding migraine and headache issues such as: abdominal
migraines, headaches caused by allergies, cluster headaches,
headaches, headaches in children, migraine headaches, sinus headaches, tension headaches, visual disturbances.
But first could you please provide the doctor's diagnosis OR a very complete list of symptoms so that we can try to guess which type of headache it might be (but if we guess, then it will not replace a doctor's diagnosis or advice).
she has Migraine or tesion type headache
doc once said tht her blood vessels of head are slightly weakend due to some reason
you can say shes havin headache mostly alternate days with acute pain
and she also havin lots of load of work at office and every day have to do work at home suffering from lots of physical work now a days
sometimes she havin headache with slightly cold
Cold is an odd trigger for migraines... usually cold makes migraines feel better. But, everyone is different and can have different triggers.
If is is a migraine, and one side of the head sounds like a migraine, the it is a good idea for your mom to take triptans instead of pain killers as long as she is not allergic to them. Triptans are a better kind of drug to use for migraines, because they are actual migraine medication and stop the migraine instead of just stopping the pain. Get your mom to ask her doctor for triptans instead of pain killer.
As for dietary changes... make sure she avoids common migraine triggers like:
DO NOT eat cheese
DO NOT drink red wine
DO NOT drink coffee
DO NOT eat chocolate
DO NOT eat foods with MSG
if she finds that not eating these things does not help after two weeks, then she can start eating them again.
also:
TAKE 400mg of magnesium a day (for migraine or tension type)
TAKE 400mg of B2 a day (for migraine)
TAKE 300mg of CoQ10 a day (for migraine)
hope that helps.
