Hi,
Thank you for your update. Biofeedback is a scientifically proven, non-drug therapy used to control headache symptoms and reduce headache frequency. It is an acquired skill that can be applied on-demand or every time there is headache attack. Talk to your attending physician about this for proper referral. Since all the tests done were normal, other things that come to mind are posture or hormone-related issues. It has been known that headaches can be caused by changes in hormone levels during puberty. Take care always.
Dr,
She just complain to me that the pain comes and goes. There is two points at the top of the head (above the ears - top of the head). When the pain comes. sometimes severe, she will be sad and sit quitely.
In the last few occasions, she has complained of neck pain but that is not seen in the last 3 days. At times, she complains of ankle pain but disappappears after rubbing some oilment. Please also note that she is 9 years old but her weight 46 kgs and height 127cm.
By the way, we have met neurologist, who recommend Sandomigraine pills. Is there anything we can do to help ease her problem.
Could you advice me on biofeedback therapy.
Hope to receive your advice further.
Thank you.

Hi,
Thank you for your update. It is good that the MRI and CT scan results were negative. This rules out organic causes in the brain and may indeed be due to primary headaches like migraine or tension headache. Was there recent trauma in the head or neck? If the medication prescribed is not helping, inform her attending physician for proper management. A change in the dosage or medicine may be indicated. A referral to a neurologist and biofeedback therapy may also help. Take care and regards.
Yes, the pain is consistent at the top of the head. A light pain sustain at all time and quite frequently poking pain arises and that leads to cries. It has been more than 20 days and she has gone MRI & CT scan and both gives negative results.
She is on sandomigrain pills (2 tablets a day) for the last 10 days and it does not help much.
Please help.
Thanks
Paran
Hi Paran,
How is your daughter? Are there other symptoms present? Can you elaborate on the character of the headache? The pain could be due to a variety of causes such as primary or secondary headaches. If the MRI was normal, how about the blood tests done? What medications is she taking? Take care and hope to hear from you soon.
