Hi
Thanks for writing in. It would be difficult to comment on the cause of headaches without examination. However, you may find the given information useful.
There can be several causes for headaches like primary headaches which are not associated with any other diseases (example migraine, tension headaches and cluster headaches) or secondary headaches that are caused by some associated disease. Secondary headaches may be due to withdrawal from caffeine, high blood pressure, eye strain, stress, brain tumors, strokes, meningitis among other causes.
The exact diagnosis would depend on the patient’s age and a detailed history with respect to the exact site, duration, time of the day, intensity, any associated symptoms like nausea, vomiting, visual loss, any neurological symptoms along with past medical history.
You should consult a doctor for proper diagnosis. Various tests such as blood tests, CT scan, MRI or lumbar puncture are usually necessary to establish a diagnosis.
Take care!
As a matter of fact, you have to be seen by a doctor and assessed first. This forum may not be able to function as an alternative to medical consultation. The doctor will go into your medical history and do the necessary examination and investigations as may be required and then come to a conclusion and advise you.
Until then you may have to use Ibuprofen or Paracetamol tablets as may be available across the counter for symptomatic relief, if they give any.
Best rgds,
Thomas Antony
