migraine and neck pain

i had pain due to a wisdom tooth turning in my gum, the pain was in my eye, jaw, cheek bone, and right side of head..
i also lost the sight in one side of my right eye for about 30 mins.
i had the wisdom tooth removed and had very bad pain in all those areas for 2 weeks none stop.
over the next few months the pain got better but i would still get the pains every now and again.
while this was happening i was also having neck pain and acheing in right side of the back of my head.
about a month ago i turned my head to the left and started to see rainbow coloured zig zags and then felt acheing coming from my neck up to my head, it wasnt a bad pain.
i have since had this happen 4 times after turning my head to the left.
the pain is always on the right apart from when i turned my head to the left and i felt something crunch in my neck and the pain went to the left side of my head.
i also have numbness, tingleing, burning , stinging and shooting pains on the right side and my face feels like its too tight and i need to relax it.
the pain im having now feels just like it did when i had the wisdom tooth.
i have a problem with my jaw, it locks and is sometimes painful.
i have a few times trapped something in my neck as my arm will feel heavy and numb but if i move my neck around my arm goes back to normal.
i have felt around my neck to see if anything hurts and at the very back of where the head and neck meet to the right, at the curve hurts, i pushed it and it started the pain off.
one doctor told me i have one shoulder higher than the other, one doctor told me im causeing migraines by constricting the blood to my brain when i turn my neck but ive had no xrays no mri and not one doctor has even looked at my neck, ive just been given diclofenac sodium 50 mg.
could you please tell me if you think its caused my my neck?
if its just migraines?
or its something to do with my wisdom tooth and jaw?
or all of these things? thankyou

Hi,
The diclofenac helping is a good thing. Most of the patients of migraine do infact get the most relief from OTC pain relief medication.
As the eye and dental examination are ok ; that leaves us with a MRI of the brain and cervical spine.
Like i said in my last post - you need to get this done for sure.
And a neurologist consultation is also important.
The origin of the pain as you say is from your neck region - that is a possibility which needs to be looked into .
Try some warm compresses, local application of analgesic ointment and some physical therapy under guidance for the neck.
Do let us know on how you are doing.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.

the pain seems to be caused by one of the two tendons/ligaments that run up the side of the spine in the neck , sorry im not sure what they are called.
if i push on the right one just as it connects to my scull the aching starts in my head , neck, and face.
could all this be caused by a problem with that?
as it does move when i turn my head to the left and get the zig zags.

hi thankyou for your reply.
i have been told i have low blood pressure as i sometimes get very hot and feel faint.
i had my eye sight checked straight after i lost sight in my eye for a few mins and was told that it was prob a migraine without the pain.
the dentist said my other teeth were fine when she took out my wisdom tooth.
i havent seen a neurologist only my gp.
the dicofenac does seem to be helping a bit, much better than the migraine tablets i had that did nothing.
could any of this be to do with my thyroid gland?
my grandfather, father and mother had a problem with theres and a doctor i had seen in the past said he thought i also had a problem as i have quite a few of the symptoms but a blood test came back ok.

Hi,
It would be very difficult to tell you a confirmed diagnosis without a clinical examination. It would be best to get a proper clinical examination - you need an MRI brain for sure and also some blood tests.
Get your blood pressure and blood sugar checked.
You should also get your eyesight checked and get a dental check up done.
All this will only help rule out the possible causes in your case.
Talk to your neurologist and ask him if a cervical spine xay or MRI spine done to find out the cause of your pain.
Is the dicofenac helping?
Good luck.
