Hello.

I agree with you. Migraine can be a debilitating condition. And once the attack has started, it is not easy to stop it. Some people benefit from the usual medication, but others don't.

Which medicines are you taking ?

Are you taking any preventive medicine ?

Hi jane! I too suffer from frequent sever migraines and have tried every medicine in the book with no permanent results. Recently my roommate's mom told me about peppermint oil! It is a godsend!!!!! When i get the headache i just rub some peppermint oil on my forehead and my neck and within minutes it's gone! I can understand if you're skeptical about it, I was too but it's worth a shot. It can be expensive to get but try looking on this site. I got it for 10$

Hello.

How are your headaches ?

There are quite a few other medicines for migraine. Usually a combination of a preventive and an abortive drug is preferred.

A preventive drug prevents further attacks and an aborting drug aborts an acute attack.

Apart from Excedrine Migraine, the other abortive drugs are the triptans (Sumatriptan, Rizatriptan) and ergot alkaloids. And some of the preventive drugs are anticonvulsants and antidepressants.
