A Migraine and then I can't say words....

OK so I have migraines and had one not to long ago and I had that usual tunnel vision and fuzzy feeling before it hit... But instead of getting a full migraine like I usualy get I could not say words that were in my head... I was talking to my husband and my speech was slower than usual do to the migraine groginess that I get but then I could not form words... I could speek but if I saw a chair and wanted to say that is a chair I could not say the word! I know what a chair is but it was like my brain forgot what to call it... And it was like that with everything I looked and or tried to think of for a whole hour... Then I was fine and back to normal again... I have never had anything like that before or since but it was a very scary experiance and I was wondering if it was a migraine or something else? I'm worried about something like that happening again... So what was it and do you think it could happen again? Let me know please... Tahnks

Hi,
How are you? How was your appointment with your doctor? Language difficulties, such as mixing words or trouble remembering a word is one of the symptoms of hemiplegic migraine. Neuropathies, weakness or paralysis on one side of the body, dizziness, nausea and vomiting. Genetic testing can identify if this is due to the  typical genetic defects associated with hemiplegic migraine that runs in families. Complete evaluation is done to rule out stroke and other conditions. Take care and do keep us posted.

That happened to me today as well. It was like a completely normal migraine for me (flashing vision, blind spot increasing in size, fuzzy feeling, nausea) but then I couldn't remember words for things. Very scary. I have a provisional doctor's appointment for tomorrow morning.
