Sinus Migraine Diagnosis

I was diagnosed with sinus migraines after undergoing every possible test imaginable, including the one where they squirt hot and cold water in your ears to make you dizzy.  It was awful!  The bad thing is that there is no definitive treatment or cure for these as I have been told.  I take Excedrin Migraine and it sometimes helps, sometimes just Aleve helps too.  The worst is when I wake up with one of these, they can last for days or weeks.  I can't even lift my head off the pillow when one of these hits.  I have tried everything I can find to do for this but yet they persist.  I thought stress would be a large factor in this, but it doesn't seem to be the case.  I am under tremendous stress, selling my house, my husband is in prison and my kids and I are moving an hour away from where we have always lived (my children are 15, 14 and 12).  The move will be a good thing, a fresh start, but it is stress nonetheless.  Has anyone found anything to help these types of headaches?  The standard ice pack on the forehead sometimes helps, but not always.  If I could just find one or two things that I could count on to help it would be awesome!  Even sleep isn't always enough.

Hi,
You may also look into alternative therapy such as biofeedback. It is a technique in which people are trained to improve their health by learning to control certain internal bodily processes. These processes occur involuntarily, such as heart rate, blood pressure, muscle tension, and skin temperature. Talk to your doctor about this. Take care and regards.

Do you have a neurologist? You need to see a neurologist. You are right, there is no cure for migraines, but there are lots of very effective treatments, including daily preventative treatments for those with chronic migraines. Please see a neurologist. If you already have a neurologist, talk to them about a proper acute treatment for migraines such as triptans as well as a preventative treatment for migraines if they think it is appropriate in your case.

this sounds like what i've been having, i dont think yer alone here!.

I've found a way to combat the headaches n pain, keep yerself hydrated and always try and keep a stable mind, keeping it clear of worrying thoughts will worsen the effect, i myself have a bad case of anxiety and find myself so worked up to a stupor its just not funny!

keep positive!
