Hi,
How is your son? Is there a history of migraine in your family? It is good that the tests done were normal. Cyclic vomiting syndrome (CVS) is characterized by episodes or cycles of severe nausea and vomiting that last for hours that alternate with intervals with no symptoms. This is usually associated with migraine headaches. Common triggers in children include stress, excitement, colds, allergies, sinus problems, and the flu. Diagnosis is difficult because no tests, such as a blood test or x ray, can establish a diagnosis of CVS. Do keep us posted with your consult with your allergologist. Best regards.
Thank you for the information about CVS. I am going to look into that. But yes, both my husband and my family have migraines in their genes! So, I do feel that we're leaning towards that problem, and I wish it could be something else.
Is there any way to diagnose infant migraines, such as CT scans?
Thanks again for the information.
Hi,
Thanks for the updates. As I have mentioned above, diagnosis of CVS may be through exclusion and may be difficult to make. It is best that you talk to your doctor about this for proper evaluation. It is important to hydrate him every bout of vomiting to prevent dehydration. Hang on and stay positive. Take care and warm regards.
