E.N.T. SURGERY FOR HEADACHES - PLEASE TELL ME YOUR STORY

If you have ever had any type of nasal surgery for headaches which were suspected to be caused by a nasal issue such as deviated septum or enlarged turbinates, I would like to hear your story.   Please describe your headache, other symptoms, and the type of surgery and whether or not your headaches were helped.

Hi, I too suffer from severe migraines. I get them every week and they last for at least 24 hours. No aura just come on out of the blue. The pain is always in the right nostril almost in the eye socket. Not a throbbing pain just increases in severity. I vomit approx every half hour for the first 12 hours. My neurologist referred me to ENT who said I had deviated septum so I had sugery to correct it. It has helped slightly as in I actually managed to go 10 days without a migraine. I'm not convinced my problem is migraines as everyone I speak to about it don't have the same symptoms as me, they all seam to have the pain in their heads. Hope this is helpful to you.

on August 15 ,year 2005 ...i have undergone endoscopic surgery due to nasal septum deviation.on left side ...actually it was said that all sinu glads where infected ...the major problem started a year ago that was in september .2004 ...on and off nasal problem.

it was not head ache but it is heavy head problem ..what i am facing after surgery ...it was a big problem ...i was not able to stand  even near tap water .

second major problem i am facing is ...my left side sinus glad.(surgery side) right on cheek become heavy ..due to high temperatur and also due to some environmental changes....there develops a lump of heavy think mucose ..which is white sticky in nature ....i have to lie down on to my right shoulder letting that this mucose flow on and sudden ..sneeze out...will let everything out ..easily but at one shot everything comes out ..this type of lump stick stuff i have never seen ..which can be removed just by holding one edge of it .

i live in india ..souther india ..where the temperature normally 20 degree celcius to 50 degree .

by doing yoga ...i could get through heavy head problem but not completely ...
now i am toally confined to my home only due to this problem ....

major problem is ...if i sit in air condition environment ...fast pain in left sinus glasd beside nostril ..develops ..previously it was greenish type of develpment ..but now ..it has turnd white.

same pain develops when i take any milk or milk made stuff ...so i am avoiding it completly .i am observing mainly on food which i take causing problems so that i can avoid to an extent.

some difference in geographic location is also said to show some changes ...if i stay in city which is at a higher altitude and which is moderatly cool compare to my town ..gives some comfort.

the biggest difference i observed was ......in 2005 i think just before ...Tsunami hit near indonesia ..deadly pain of sinus disappeared as if nothing has happend to me. ...this occured few days before Tsunami ..and i started feeling amazing ....but later after this incident....soon i got into normal deadly pain of infection of all sinus glads.... it may due to gradual environmental changes just before Tsunami disaster that caused whole pain dissappear......my life and activities were same ...i remember this because ...i was in comfortable feeling thinking that it disappeard by its own....there after when it appeard, it was said all types of sinus glads where infected ...after PNS scan...i didn't remember the term but it is asamoidal ...i think.

please note i live in india..not indonesia.

yoga excersises which helped me are ....1) Anulom vilom 2) kapal bathi. ....

now ..heavy head feelings are only when i bend my head down ....but previously it was always.
compare to last year ...i have improved alot ...that is pain severiarity ...and repeated infection that is greenish stuff occurance ....has gradually reduced to larger extent.

The development of mucose on my surgery side ...is to be stopped .... once it is stopped ...i am sure all my problems will come to end ...but how ?

i have just recently developed allergies..i have been having like a dull pressure headache in the back of my head..they last about 8 hours of the day normally for weeks at a time..could this be my allergies/sinuses or somthing else?
