strange headaches

I have had these strange headaches ever since I have been 11 they started the same year I got my period.  The headache would come on all of sudden as a sharp shooting pain in the back of my head.  It would only last for a second the strange thing is I would hear a noise with them.  The only thing I can compare the sound to is the fiz sound soda makes.  Sometimes the headache occurs 4 to 5 times within a five minute peroid the pain is so intinse it leaves me with awful dull headache.  I have never vomited with my headaches.  I have passed recently three times due to these headaches it was three times during a ten week period.  The last time I passed out was three months ago.  I have gone to family doctor and informed him of my syncope issues and my headaches ekg, echo, MRI of my brain, and EEG everything came back normal.  Then they a 24 hour halter monitor and they found PVC's the cardiologist I met with was not that concerned.   When I was 16 the headaces became so intense I stayed in bed for a week. Luckily they went away gradualy.  I have only had two times in my life when the headaches went away for a significant amoun of time.  The first was when I pregnant I was told take a 81 mg aspirin because I had thick blood no big deal so I thaught.  My doctor told me to stop taking the aspirin at 34 weeks.  Well thankgoodness he had the due dates mixed because I actually stopped at 35 weeks no sooner did I stop three days later I went into sevre preclampsia and I had HELLP.  I was very sick.  The other thing is during those three days the headaches came back and they were strong and painful.  After I had my baby three months later the syncope issue occured.  The second time the headaches disappeared was after I started excersising daily to lose my pregancy weight I stated this routine three weeks ago and I only had one one second head since then.  If anybody has ever heard of these I would and if you have any questions please ask.

Hi,

Since all your tests are normal there is a chance that these headaches could be a migraine variant. Migraine headaches can occur in a variety of different ways and can be associated with fainting spells or syncope.
The sharp shooting short lasting headaches could be ice pick headaches which are often seen in migraineurs.
It will help us to know if you have taken treatment for these headaches and has it worked to some extent.

Thanks

Hi...the description of the sound u mention sounds like u may be hearing spinal fluid moving down ur spine.
It is possible that the time around ur monthly may cause an increase in crainial pressure due to the changes in ur hormones.

U said u had a brain MRI...how long since u had it and do u have a copy of the MRI and the report?

Some conditions r overlooked...and we must remember that the reports r the opinion of the radiologist....and they usually only comment on what they were told to look for.

Did u have a trauma to ur head or neck area around the time u turned 11?
