Thank you so much for your two replys. I appreciate your help. As of today October 2, I am still have no answers and no help for my daughter. I appreciate your research on her behalf.
Thank you for responding Dr. Santos. She has seen 3 neurologists and an autoimmune specialist. Her diagnosed autoimmune diseases are: postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome. She also has been diagnosed with gastroesophogeal reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrome, raynaud's phenomenon, reflex sympathetic dystrophhy in left leg, migraines, interstitial cystitis. The current near syncopal episodes have more of a petit mal seizure symptom to them with an extended post-ictal phase. She has a loss of strength on her her right side mainly, her pupils are sluggish, her speech is slurred, she sometimes has difficulty walking, she has extreme tremors in both hands at times that aar er re not intentional. She also has some short term memory loss, confusion, continuous migraine, nausea, some facial pain, loss of vision in one or both times that last anywhere from 5-10 minutes for both eyes to 24 hours for peripheral vision in one eye. She does have some irritability, clumsiness and is easily overwhelmed at times, but I feel some of this may be due to the overwhelming stress. She has had the same job as a certified pharmacy tech for 10 years at the same pharmacy. The onset of the first seizure type activity was sudden while she was at work in March of this year. She took the FMLA, but since she has still been unable to get a diagnosis. She has lost her job, apartment, insurance, short term disability and does not qualify for unemployment or Medicare because she does not have a diagnosis. She has some fair days and some days, but is very discouraged as we continue to search for answers and a doctor. She has had to move back home.
Hi,
How is your daughter? Can you elaborate on her personal history of autoimmune diseases? It is good to know that diagnostic test results were normal. It is important to rule out if the present symptoms are associated with her existing condition or if it is due to other issue. Presyncope and syncope could be due to heart issues or blood pressure-related conditions as well and may need to be ruled out also. Further evaluation may need to be done to determine the underlying cause. Referral to other specialists or obtaining a second opinion may also help. Take care and do keep us posted.
