I have had different types of headaches/migrains since i was 3 years old [we only know it was 3 as thats when i started to talk]. It started with abdominable Migrains which went on untill i was, i think 6 then i got hour long bursts of headache. Sooner or later i got diagnosed with stress/ tension-type headaches which are the ones im having trouble with at the moment. I also suffer from Hemiplegic migraines which , for those who don't know cause paralysis on half of my body and make me loose vision in one eye, also there is the pain in the head! I know its a gene i will have for the rest of my life but i take about 1 every 4-6 months so i can deal with them. I used to suffer from very bad Panic attacks, like 3 a day but now they've went away.i had them last summer. I do tend to have erratic sleep patterns such as sleeping a full day and not being able to get to sleep until 4am sometimes. My mood swings can be very drastic but i think thats just normal for my age.
The one i have trouble with our my Stress headaches. I used to be able to cope when hey lasted hours buit they've been lasting days since early June this year. I had one for 9 days long and on the 9th i saw my doctor. I was prescribed with propranalol [ a beta-blocker] which seemed to help for about a month but then my headaches came back, once again lasting days. I had a week long one and had to make another appointment. I was then prescribed with Pizotifen with two 5mg tablets per night. After taking them i started feeling numb emotionally, sluggish and horrible so i asked for the dose to be taken down. A little while after i was back to myself but my headaches returned again. I decided the best thing to do was get premition to double my dose again. I got out back up to two tablets but my mood has stayed good but my headaches haven't left. My sleep is still all over the place and so are my moods [once again i do htgink they are normal for my age, 14] and my headaches last so long it takes atleast 2 days for me to recover fully from them. Ive tried hypnotherapy and CBT also 3 different types of painkiller along with the 2 types of medication [ ican't come off Pizotifen until december as it might trigger new headaches] and nothing seems to help. These are things that normally help people with my headaches and of my age but they aren't helping me. This makes me think that having headaches all my life there might be something else to it. Possible a chemical imbalance or condition of some sort. I'm not sure, it might just be headaches but they're unbearable even with my lifelong experience with different headaches and migraines.
Does anyone have any idea whats wrong with me?
