Thrombotic Stroke

Hello. I'm researching information on strokes.

A black male in his early fifties suffers a thrombotic stroke. He has high cholesterol and blood pressure but is thin with no diabetes. When he suffers his stroke he loses function on one side of his body and becomes disoriented. He is taken to the ER right away.

How long is he likely to be in the hospital? What is the plausibility for either lasting effects or a complete recovery?

The most import item of information is his MRA. Not whether or not he has " no diabetes", high cholesterol, or high blood pressure. Thrombotic strokes are more likely with dehydration.  The MRA will identify the area damaged and the extent of damage.  This information will provide a better method of predicting recovery.
