spots in white matter

I have been having bad headaches for a little over two months now.  I have been to my primary dr. who sent me for a ct scan,  then for 2 mri's the dr said they found spots in my white matter and said it could be caused from multiple diseases such as ms, or alzheimer,  people who have diabets and migraines.  But said none of this is causing my headache, and couldnt find reason why was having them.  I have been having migraines since i was in my teens and i am now in my 50's, Never this long.  My obgyn says they are hormonal headache since i was getting them once a month then they stopped but now they are back.  One suggestion is my ovaries are shutting down.  What concerns me now is the spots, i went into shock and didnt ask any questions regarding this and now i am extremely nervous that something major is wrong.   I have a appointment to go back in 1 month and would like  to know what kind of questions to ask the doctor about this matter.  Could this be something serious?

Hi,

How are you?
White matter spots in the brain are commonly found in old people, people with a history of long term migraines, high BP, diabetes, MS and may even be an early sign of alzheimer’s disease.
Since you have a long history of migraines it is quite possible that these spots are due to that. They occur in roughly 20% patients with migraine. However the other causes also need to be ruled out.
MS is not a possibility since you have no other neurological symptoms apart from headache. Please discuss this with your neurologist. Take care!
