Chronic Nausea, Sensitivity to sounds, light

My college age daughter has been suffering for 4 years with silent migraines. She also has days with extreme sensitivity to sounds and/or light. She sees a neurologist and has tried different meds. to no success. She has been glutin free for 3 months, to no success ( but feels worse w/ glutin). I feel its more than migraines. Any thoughts? We are desperate, it's ruining my daughters young life.

Yes that is sad.
What are her symptoms?
What meds has she tried?
Does anything make it better?

Oh dear. Hopefully she will just get better and better now with these diets. They can really help, so have faith. The gut and the bacterial flora in the gut is almost like a whole new field in medicine that is developing now. More progress in this field will definitely come!

Has she been tested for Helicobacter Pylori? Research now suggests that this evil little bacteria can cause migraine as well as stomach problems. Besides from the gluten free diet and migraine diet it might be a good idea to also eradicate the H. Pylori if she has them. I think you can even buy self-tests online.

Selma,
Only had a head CT done. Now due to a change in health insurance, she can't even go to a Dr. where her school is located. She would have to get a ride 3 hours north to be seen. ( She is 4 hours south of me)
That is why we have been to look at the diet, maybe leaky gut?

Thanks for your questions. She wakes up sometimes fine but becomes nauseous and clammy without warning.(told by Dr. is a silent migraine) She  also knows she will be having an episode, for lack of a better term, when sounds and/or light are amplifyed.
She wears earplugs and sunglasses when she can to help with sensitivity.

Her meds are an anti-nausea med as needed. Doesnt give full relief
                          an anti depressant
another med for onset of a migraine - helps a little

I am awaiting the names of specific meds she has tried

She has been on a gluten free diet for 2 months. Feels somewhat better.
Feels worse when gluten is eaten by accident.
She has now begun eliminating dairy.. we await results.
Thank you for caring, I appreciate any and all feedback!
