I haven't had any trouble with my knees. I read the other post and was thinking that they might be two separate issues. Did you ask the doctor about the knee thing? I didn't see that listed as even a rare side effect. However, side effects are tricky little things!
I take Lyrica daily and get botox injections in my neck and temples about every 5 months. Headaches are by no means gone, but I can work through/with them.
As a school teacher, I just can't work with the slowness or the difficulty finding words. I don't know that I have suffered memory loss, but if my brain isn't working right, I can't serve my students -- hence why I stopped Topamax.
I understand what Angelyn391 is saying. I have trouble sometimes finding words. I have been taking Topomax for over a year and it has decreased my migraines a great deal though not completely. I take only 100mg per day so there may be a difference depending on your dosage. If your migraines disrupt your life as much as mine did Topomax is worth a try in my opinion. Good Luck!!
Did you have trouble with your knees? Have you found anything else that works for your migraines? Nothing else that I have tried so far has worked at all.
I was taking it .. cannot handle the side effects. While the taste thing is horrid, its the "slowness" of my brain that I can't deal with. I had the same problem with Neurontin .. makes me feel like my synapses are on slow motion.
