Are you workingout or engaging in sexual activity when it happens? If so it's either from tilting your head back or holding your breath. Follow the link below and stretch your scalenes, I fixed myself in a week or two. This all assumes it not something more serious such as an aneurism which is lower likelihood but always possible

What other symptoms are present? If there was no history of head trauma or injury, this could be caused by primary headaches such as tension or migraine headache. Avoiding the triggers and analgesic may help. However if it persists, it is best that you have this checked by your doctor or be referred to a neurologist for proper evaluation. Imaging studies may also be done. Take care and do keep us posted.
