headaches for 10 years+

I am wondering if my headaches could be vascular.  I have been suffering with these debilitating headaches for more than 10 yrs already.  I have had all sorts of tests done. Everything is negative.  MRI's, CTscans, bloodwork, etc.  I have never had anything tested for the veins in my head.  Is there such a test?  What is it called?  I wake up everyday with a headache, my head feels full and my neck and middle back always hurt.  As the day goes on, my headache gets worse, my eyes hurt, my whole head.  I am very depressed and frustrated and feel lost and like there is nothing anybody can do to help me.  I am only 31 years old and have 2 small kids to take care of.  I have also had my nerves in the back of my head burnt and frozen.  I am on a waiting list for a neurostimulator.  My Dr says that is my last option.  Can you give me some advice or help?

Hi

These may explain the headaches. A prior accident is likely to be contributory to your symptom. I do not think this is something else. Your scans are clean and from here, bleeds, tumors and other possible conditions have been ruled out. Hypothyroid and parathyroid problems may present with headaches. Also, a systemic form of chronic disease such as fibromyalgia may be considered. However, a criteria need to be met for this and fibromyalgia involves more areas of the body

Hey, thanks for responding.  I did have a car accident right before all these headaches started. So I do think the accident caused the headaches.   I have been to chiropractors, checked my spine, they say I have to have pinched nerves, due to the accident, but all my MRI's and CTscans are negative, but I still wonder if I do have something else.  And no I have never been officially diagonosed with depression, but lately I have been feeling down because of all the pain I have been feeling.  I am on Cymbalta, not for depression, but for the pain, and Propanolol, for a rapid heart rate and thryoid med for hypothryoidism.    I really feel like I have tried everything.  Again, thanks for responing.

Hi

I understand how frustrating this is for you. I would suggest a consult with an ENT specialist and ophthalmologist to rule out involvement of underlying structures. If your headaches have been present for ten years or so, then this may be vascular in origin. By vascular , I would mean migraines. Conditions like aneurysms , tumors and bleed have been ruled out given clear results in your scans. An assessment of the spine may also be necessary.

Have you had any history of trauma to the head or neck before?

Any diagnosed case of depression or anxiety?
