Hi......i'm new to this forum...very scared.....and need some answers. I'm a 21 year old girl. Was very healthy...normal...etc. Last month i started developing this severe headaches. Well about 3 days before this happened...i went water ski ing.....i fell over 13 times....ingesting water in my nose...mouth...everywhere! By the time i was done...i sounded like i had a cold!! Well my doctor said i have cluster headaches. I was experiencing headaches bilateral.....with sore ears...ringing in the ears...and it felt like someone was blowing in my ears really fast at times....feels like there plugged too. Well i'm taking amitriptolin but now my headaches feel like in the back of my head. I constanly have this burning sensation in my nose....or like i have to sneeze. My headaches are everyday. When i move my head it feels like there pressure on the side i tilt it. Or if i bend over i feel this pressure in my head. I don't know if this is nerve damage in my neck....if this is sinutitis....or i damaged my occipitial nerves.....i'm just really scared. Its been over a month now.....and i've been to 3 doctors...1 neuro.....and still no answers???? I have no history of migraince...or cluster headaches....nothing! Perfectly normal until all this...Please help!!

Hi,

Thanks for writing in.
Pressure headaches which get worse on tilting the head or bending forwards can occur due to sinusitis. It is important for you to get yourself evaluated by an ENT specialist to rule out sinusitis.
Ear infection or sinusitis seems to be the most likely cause of your symptoms as of now. You can try steam inhalation few times a day and see if there is any relief.
Hope this helps!

Hi,

Well, it sounds horrible, but it also sounds like several things.  It certainly sounds like you have a middle ear infection from the water, that could explain the sore ears and some of the other stuff.  Your sinuses could be infected, but you really need to see your GP and get your ears and sinuses checked out.
It is actually REALLY difficult to damage your major cranial nerves, and if you do, you would have significant sensory symptoms.
I understand you are worried, but this could be making things worse, nothing triggers a headache like stress!
Get yourself checked out, it is too easy to worry yourself into a frazzle over not knowing what is wrong and thinking the worst.

Good luck
