very long migraine

I have had A MIGRAINE for 4 1/2 years with no relief. I had an MRI done a year ago but did not see the film myself until last Tuesday. The neurologist pointed out that my brain seemed too small and that I had several small white spots on my brain. This scared me. When I asked what it could mean, he wouldn't tell me. Can you? Please?

Hi

Migraine headaches are given as a diagnosis when other underlying disease conditions have been ruled out or excluded. In your case, the MRI showed some relevant findings. You have mentioned of white spots. Migraineurs or patients who suffer from migraines may show some white matter lesions in their MRI scans. These lesions do not seem to represent anything and at this point their significance appears to be vague. However, we can not simply assume this to be your case. I suggest, you ask for the official results of your scans and all other blood tests. Bring the film to a radiologist or another neurologist for second opinion. It is important that you be guided accordingly so that the right management be given you.

What? Why wouldn't he be able to tell you? Isn't he a doctor? A specialist? That doesn't make sense Hun. You need to find out what's going on. And you need to find out NOW! I'd be freaking out if that were me. Please, go back to the doctor, a DIFFERENT doctor and see what they say.
I hope you feel better soon.
Take Care of yourself.
