Constant dizziness

On 4-22-10 I awoke with severe vertigo, nausea, headache, pressure etc.  Went to ER, did catscan, bloodwork, EKG, spinal tap, everything normal.  Dr. suspected viral labrynthitis.  Followed up with NP 3 days later, prescribed steroids for pain and pressure.  Symptoms gradually got better, went to ENT on 5-10, he agreed w/ labrynthitis.  Continued to get better for 4-5 days then had relapse.  Symptoms returned except for nausea, ENT prescribed another round of steroids for headache and pressure, symptoms continued a little better, than worse over Memorial day weekend.  MRI done and normal.  Started PT 6-2, balance fine, but neck was stiff, have been doing neck stretching exercises, had VNG, balance study done, results normal.  My "dizziness" symptoms are 24/7, so I am assuming I don't have vertigo.  My symptoms gradually improved since Memorial day until today, they are getting worse and feel like they did last relapse.  I also developed tinnitus about 10 days ago.  I also have a very, very slight numbness/ tingling in my toes, but I have always had episodic tingling in my toes depending on what shoes I wear.  My local ENT is done with me and I have an appt with an ENT at OSU.  Before the 1st relapse, the vertigo was a 3 on scale of 1-10 and a couple of times a day I would go about 3-5 minutes forgetting I had it.  Now it is 24/7 and feels slightly different and worse.  I have a young family and am not functioning well.  I am scared to death it won't go away.  I don't understand how it started out as inner ear and now is not.  Am I headed in the right direction or should I go to a neurologist?

I also have this. I have been diagnosed with MAV Migraine-associated vertigo. Still no joy after 25 months & several different medications. Now I suspect that all this may be due to a serious mold problem in my house and/or new carpets (this all started when we rented this house) or my 2 yr old cat...... I think that allergies play a huge part in this h**l that I am suffering. I had to self refer to a neuro-otologist to get this far. My GP likes to call anything she can't figure out "stress".

Dear Mandy,
ENT specialist would be a better option in this case.
However if you feel that the present one is not understanding your problems, you can approach another one for the second opinion.
