recently i found out my 3 yeard old could possibly be having epileptic siezures since she was 6 months old when she had her first eeg scan the test results were inconclusive since then she was put on benedryl which cause more of her episodes so she had a second eeg done that was 3 hours long when that was done we met with the neurologist she told us that she had 4 spikes on the right side of her brain when she was in a deep sleep which brought her some concerns now she will be going through an mri the doctor noticed her dragging her feet when she runs and also walking tip toed what could she be looking for or should i be worried about them finding in the scans please im a worried mother who is scared to lose the only thing in my life right now

Hi there. Since your daughter has been suffering from epilepsy, clinically and EEG wise, dragging her feet, which is mostly due to neurological deficit, she might be having an organic cause, which would be apparent only on an MRI. What was the mode of delivery? Any evidence of birth asphyxia or poor APGAR score at birth and 5 minutes? Any history of a perinatal infection that you might have suffered? All these are possibilities for this poor neurological outcome. Wish you all the best. Take care.
