38yo F with history of stroke wanting a baby

Hi, I'm 38yo mother of 6 year old.  About a year and a half ago I suffered temporary loss of vision in one eye which lasted about a minute. This led to further testing with my optomitrist which didn't show anything in his exam, Then I went to see an opthamologist for a further testing and he also found nothing. So I followed up with my PCP who requested an MRI thinking it could be a neurological issue. The MRI showed I have narrowing of the corotid arteries on both left sides. They put me on baby aspirin daily and sent me on my merry little way. Six months later I started feeling numbness and tingling in my hands and fingers. My arms felt heavy and my coordination was off. Knowing my histroy,  I went to the ER and it appeared that I was suffering a stroke. They immediatly did an angiogram and had discovered that one side of my carotid artery was more than 90% blockage while the other had about 70% blokage. They went in through my groin and inserted a stent in my brain and was able to repair the left side but was not able to repair the right side. It appears I only have one functioning artery but he did explain that one artery is providing enough blood flow to both sides of my brain.  I now take baby aspirin & simvastatin 1Xper day. Here is the problem. I desperately want to have another child before I get any older. I recently spoke to my neurologist about it and he said because my condition is very rare in my age group  it would be difficult to advise me. He also said my condition is similar to Moya Moya which is more prevelant in the Asian community. His only advice is that I should consider a C-section and be monitored closely with a high rick obstetrician if I decide to go through with it . His last words before I left his office left me with an unsettling feeling.  He said "why take the risk if you don't have to".  While I realize he is the expert in this field he is also a man who can't possibly relate to what I'm feeling.  Since the stent placement one year ago I have not had any incidences.  I should also mention that prior to the stroke, I was a healthy 37 year old with no risk factors for stroke. No HBP and no choleserol and no complications with my 1st pregnancy. I guess I'd like to hear from others who may be or have gone through a similar situation. Medical professions, I would really appreciation any contribution you may have to add.  God bless.

I think you should have the baby. I think babies are the most magical things on the planet.

As far as a C-section goes, this might be a reasonable procedure to consider, all things considered.
