I had congenital fusion of C2-C3 and C5-C6-C7. First I had intense pain in neck . Then one day i woke up with numbness in my both arms and legs as well as other parts of body.
i even had littel numbness and twicthing on my face.

After  surgery, leaving pain things were going good. NO FACIAL NUMBNESS and TWITCHING.

Ordered PT after removal of soft collar.

After my FIRST PT where she did only history taking and ROM exercise, I  developed sudden numbness all over body along with crawling of bug sensation and twitching.  facial numbness also cam back. I was extremely stressed out  at that time because of upcoming tests.

Neursurgeon did xray but found no dislocation of Titanium plate and screws. So she said there is no reason to suspect cord injury. She recommended finishing PT. Also, MRI done before surgery showed no SC, brain or brain stem lesion, So she said there is no basis to suspect organic neuro problem.
She will refer me to neurologist if PT doesn't help.

Crawling of bug sensation and twitching were gone completely for two days.  Then they returned back.

I also have pain at the end of sacrum and in lower thoracic and back.

I am a medical student so I have no choice but to sit and study all day.


i'm confused as to what to do.

PS: surgery and MRi done in 2009.

twitching and crawling bug sensation (which is the muscles twitching )is coming from your neck most likely. There may have been mild spinal cord damage during surgery. How long after surgery did you get these symptoms?
