I have been diagnosed with Antiphospholipid Syndrome. I have had 4 mc and have recently talked with the doctors about trying to have another baby with this blood problem. As far as I can tell the only way I can do this is to give myself two shots of heparin a day and take a baby aspirin. The result would be a baby they say, but this scares me taking heparin and then having a c-section. Anyone else that has been diagnosed with this or whom can help me please respond. I am new on the site and I am a little unsure abot how this works. Thx

I have APS diagnosed in 1999 - to the lady wishing for another baby ! -
No problem with heprin (fragmin) you get used to injecting I have 5 children 3 born before diagnosis third one scarry - after diagnosis and proper expert care were easy -
Just remember no matter what profolactic drugs your taking if you don't feel well then speak to your consultant don't worry about bothering them !!
Anyway you get to choose the day your baby is born within timescale obviously
Easy peasy wishing you all the best !
Oh forgot ! you will remain on fragmin till the day before c section then you will give birth shortly after when doctors give you all clear you will have another dose -
If you are taking warfarin already swapping from warfarin to fragmin makes you feel a little yuck but I find that I feel better generally when taking fragmin rather than warfarin but FRAGMIN is not for long term use.
Make sure you understand bridging therapy (swapping from warfarin to fragmin) and vise versa as this is important and makes it easier to communicated with Consulants and carers
