Hi,
Your symptoms of hip stiffness, muscle weakness, fatigue, joint pains, malaise and an elevated ESR do suggest of Polymyalgia rheumatica. Symptoms of Polymyalgia rheumatica usually subside without treatment, in 1 to 4 years. Symptoms diminish greatly with treatment. Most patients are given steroid treatment for 1 or more years for relief of discomfort and stiffness. The disease can be very bothersome if it left untreated. Corticosteroids, such as prednisone, are prescribed in low doses. Please consult a physician and rheumatologist for confirmation of diagnosis and treatment. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!
