Bilateral thigh numbness after CABGx3

Bilateral thigh numbness after CABGx3

09 June 2011 underwent heart catheterization. Right femoral artery was tapped for the cath. 01 July 2011 underwent CABGx3. After surgery experienced constant numbness and periodic intense burning sensation bilaterally in the outer thigh area. The intense burning was such that I could not sleep at times while hospitalized. The intense burning has subsided but the numbness in both thighs continues. I mentioned the sensations to both my cardiologist and surgeon while hospitalized but neither had an explanations. As of this date the numbness continues bilaterally. I am not in pain nor does the numbness affect my mobility. I ride my bicycle and am on the treadmill 5 days a week to exercise. I have no answers as to what possibly could be the cause of the numbness in both thighs post-op. Just looking for possible explanations as to what may be the issue. Your time and consideration in assisting me in probing this is appreciated.
