I saw a video in which it said whiplash can cause brain damage, and many people have brain damage without knowing it.
This winter season with a helmet I've taken a fall on my snowboard head smacking what seemed to be snow, but really it was ice. It took me 5min or so to fully get back in a fully functional state where I was okay with doing everything normal.
Before I cared about my safety whatsoever I did skateboard/bike/ski/snowboard without a helmet and I took some falls in which I just was on the floor for 5-10min rolling around in pain. One time in particular I remember falling without a helmet the back of my head smacked the pavement and I couldn't move for a good 10min.
Now I was looking at the symptoms
"Any brain function can be disrupted by brain trauma: excessive sleepiness, inattention, difficulty concentrating, impaired memory, faulty judgment, depression, irritability, emotional outbursts, disturbed sleep, diminished libido, difficulty switching between two tasks, and slowed thinking." (http://www.braininjury.com/symptoms.html)
and it seems that I have a couple, those being : difficulty concentrating (which I assume may just be the regular it's not all the time), faulty judgment (I tend to just not care about anything anymore), depression (I'm always thinking of the negative, I get depressed to the point where I want to sit in a corner), and disturbed sleep (I cannot go to sleep right away, it will take me an hour to two till I feel a little bit tired).
So my question is, is it worth going to my Doctor? Or will he just say it's nothing and then my time will be wasted?
