Hi there. Your symptoms of headache and loss of vision temporarily cold be due to a pituitary tumor which can be a micro or macroadenoma. A macroadenoma  is a large tumor which presents as headache, lethargy, nasal drainage, nausea and vomiting, problems with sense of smell, visual changes like double vision, drooping eye lids and visual field loss. Respect to opt
Brief visual loss could be because of  location of pituitary gland with respect to optic chiasma.
An MRI brain would be needed to assess if there is a tumor and its size and location. Fundus examination to check the pressure effects if any.
Rule out hypertension, diabetes etc.
Check with your neurologist immediately for the needful.

Hi Bevan, my name is Suzy and I am a nurse and live in New Zealand. I am rather concerned about what you have described here and I would strongly urge you to go and see your doctor, hopefully they will send you off to have an MRI scan done of your head to see what is going on . without having investigations to see what the cause is, it is really hard to determine whether you do have a brain tumour. I do pray for you that you dont have one, so please, I know you are scared and frightened but please do go and get yourself checked out. have you got lots of support around you? and someone who can go with you to the doctors for support.??
With any time of serious illness such as cancer/brain tumours, time is of the essence in treatment so the sooner you do go and get yourself checked out, the sooner they can diagnose you properly and commence treatment.  Please let us know how you are doing  and dont hesitate to contact me if i can support you in any way. I have a special interest in brain tumours and that is why when you described your symptoms i thought i had better encourage you to go and get yourself checked properly. thinking of you. Suzy
