Burning skin

Hello, I am a male in my late 40's that exercises regularly.
About a week ago my skin on my upper inner thigh on 1 leg and leg/abdomen crease areas and upper inner arm (1 arm) bagan having a burning sensation, like a sunburn, that hurts when touched and sometimes when not touched. A few days prior, I attempted to remove a freckle that I thought was a tick and this problem seems to have started after this attempted removal occurred (not sure if the two are related, but I wanted to mention nonetheless). It is very uncomfortable when moving and when any clothing comes in contact with the affected areas. Have been applying cortisone cream (1%) but it hasn't helped, also, taking ibuprofin to help ease the pain so that I may sleep and function somewhat.
Any information that you can provide would be appreciated.
