CIDP?

by RankinBranch, Aug 27, 2008 12:14PM
After complaining to my primary care MD about constant muscle twitching in the calves of my legs that has persisted for almost a year and then some muscle weakness she sent me to a Neurologist. He performed an EMG/nerve conduction velocity which indicated moderate to severe demylination in both calves and my right arm. I am now having severe cramping in my calves and I am taking 3200mg of Neurontin a day with little or no help. All test for an underlying cause have been negative except for a slight elevation in protien in my spinal fluid. I am now awaiting a nerve/muscle biopsy before the Neurologist will begin treatment with steroids. How can I manage the pain associated with the cramping? Is this cramping normal? The Neurontin is of little help. My hot tub does offer some relief but only for a short time. HELP
