If it prescription medication, you never give it to anyone to use. I don't know what pharmacies you have around you, but here in AZ, you can pay for pharmacies to correctly dispose of medications.

Just in case someone didn't know about it, there is a forum on MS. So if you have a question specifically about MS you can ask questions and get answers there also. Thanks for everyone's help. Brandon

WOW! Do you know honestly what your talking about? Honestly? The have been saying for years now not to put ANY type of medication down the toilet. I have another questioned for you, do you know what copaxone is and what it targets in a person? Here is a little info for you. I went and looked on the box of copaxone that I have stored in the fridge for any opiate and the only word is glatiramer. So I went to Bing and typed in disposal of glatiramer and and the 5th one down was this:

COPAXONE®(glatiramer acetate injection)
copaxone (glatiramer acetate) injection [Aventis Pharmaceuticals Inc.] DESCRIPTION ... Patients should be instructed on the safe disposal of full containers ...
dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/archives/fdaDrugInfo.cfm?archiveid=837 · Cached page

and on that page you can find the following statement under the heading
"Considerations Regarding the Use of a Product Capable of Modifying Immune Responses":
"Because glatiramer acetate can modify immune response, it could possibly interfere with useful immune functions...."

So again, do you know what copaxone is and what it targets in a person and are you saying that it's better to flush a medication that targets a person's immune system down the toilet and into the water supply chain then for someone to have a government job that is intended for the safety of my community by answering mine and other people's questions? I hope your screen name does not have anything to do with your job. If it does maybe you should go ahead and take another one of those classes that they pay you to go to them.

This is the nice and cleaned up version. I think I'm done wasting my time on you. Leave me alone and keep your stupid comments to yourself and I will do the same.

Just get rid of it by flushing it down the toilet. This is an opiate and will not contaminate the food/water supply. You don't need to get on a list of people disposing of opiates and generate unnecessary paperwork and taxpayer effort. Plus, if you give it to anybody there is no assurance it will not be misused.

Thank you for your answers. I think I remember seeing on T.V. one time that selling drugs is illegal. That much I understand. That's why I wasn't sure if I could give a private facility or agency a donation. I honestly do not want anything. I guess now I will ask my county how they would like me to get rid of the copaxone and all of the other medication mom was on. Thanks again.

Not legally in the United States.

You subject yourself to arrest and mandatory draconian prison sentences for doing so.
