Post Meningioma surgery

My mom, 79yrs old, had a benign meningioma surgically removed from her left frontal lobe this past Tuesday 3/6/07. The surgery was very successful.  My mom has glaucoma and the doctors have her on steroids and Dilantin to prevent swelling and seizures post surgically. How dangerous is that for the glaucoma, since she should be on these meds for a while?  Also since she went on these medications before surgery I noticed that her balance has been compromised as well as her speech very slow.  These occurances were not like this before she started these meds.  Can you help and answer these questions for me?  Thank you

I personally would not think the meds would have any affect on glaucoma.  I'm not a doctor. I would think she should still be able to take her eye drops for glaucoma.  Did you ask the surgeon?  Why did they remove the meningioma?  Where was it located?

Oh sorry, you did mention frontal lobe.  I think the balance center is in the cerebellum in the back of the head.
