What could cause a 15 year old boy to lose peripheral vison have neurapathy?

I am the mother of a 15 year old boy. Three years ago he lost his peripheral vision in one eye then quickly in the next. In the past two years or so his symptoms have progressed to where he has numbness in his hands, feet, side of his face. When he looks down he reports  to feel electrical type shock down his spine into his arms. He recently told me of a random electric shock type feeling down only the left side of this body. He has had MRI's which show nothing and Dr's that say stress induced and psychosomatic. It is all very frustrating, Early on in this progression he reported not feeling well and had an intense though short lived episode 1 hour duration where his spine had a shock and his feet he described as having hot pokers. He also reports his legs currently feeling heavy and tired. His neuropathy has been described by his neurologist as glove and sock. Any input would be much appreciated.
