Clonazepam withdrawal - urgent

by ramlakshman, Nov 03, 2007 10:46PM
Hello Doctor,
I have been taking clonazepam (LONAZEP- INDIA) for the last 5 months nearly (.5mg everynight). It was prescribed for my upper back pain which was my primary complaint. The doctor felt it was also due to anxiety that I had other symptoms such as excessive sensitiveness in my skin and constant tiredness.

After taking this medicine for nearly 3 months, I was relieved from these symptoms to a large extent. Last time, I went to the doc, he asked me to take .5mg - one pill a day for 3 months.
Now instead of stopping it abrubtly , I have started taking the same pill, once in two days instead of everyday , over the last week and the symptoms seems to be re apprearing...tho not as strong as it was before. I am feeling extremely drowsy and laid back.
Can u tell me if these are normal withdrawal symptoms and should be neglected for sometime and will be back to normal? Is this the right way to decrease the dose as prescribed by my doctor
?
