Concussions and nose bleed

I have had several concussions but all happened in high school playing football. This was about 6 years ago I don't think I really have had any on going side effects from them other than my memory isn't the best. Here recently I have been getting nose bleeds not just for 5 min. with a little blood but they can last for 20-40 min. with alot of bleeding.I had one at work and a co worker said he had never seen anything like it.I mean it is alot of blood for a nose bleed. I went through 3 tampoons one night trying to get it to stop. If I wasn't concerned I wouldn't be writing this it has also scared my wife. I really can't afford to go  to the doctor because I am self employed and have no medical insurance.I do live in Tennessee so allergies are a big problem here but I don't seem to have any other problems. I had a nose bleed yesterday and I still have some blood draining down my throat. I don't know where the blood is comming from because when I try to put paper towels in my nose to stop the bleeding it comes out the other side of my nose and starts to really run down my throat.I also get very light headed and have headaches for days after these bleeds. Any comments will be helpfull. Thanks alot,John
