Consequences of bain surgery to remove cavernoma

Hi,

My name is Karin and I am 34. I was diagnosed with a cavernoma in the right cerebellar hemisphere with compression of the cerebellar peduncle with no significant brainstem compression or hydrocephalus.

The lesion needs to be removed they said. I am of course really scared as they commented on the fact that the surgery might leave me me some side effects... (right side of my face paralysed, deaf on the right... etc)

I do not know anyone who had that kind of surgery and I would love to know people who could reassure me by telling me that sometimes Surgeries do actually save you 100 percents! Would be nice and more human hat the approach of my super doctors who give me nightmares :)

Please le me know what you know about recovery of such surgeries. I will be operated by Prof Zvi Ram in Israel in the tel aviv hospital know as Ichilov.  

Do you also know about new technologies for operating on such tumors (laser??)
