Constant Head Pain - Feeling of Deprivation

Constant Head Pain - Feeling of Deprivation

Hello.  I'm a 25 year old 165 pound male with no history of major disease or injury.  About 9 months ago, maybe earlier, I started having a constant head pain. The pain was weak and I was busy so I ignored it, but it has progressively gotten worse.  The pain never completely subsides, but is always there in varying amounts.  Sometimes It's centered on my forehead or feels like it's spreading from my right temple, but usually it is covering my entire head.  If I had to describe it, It feels like there is this painful spider-web covering my skull that is pulsing.
Several months ago I went back to college and that is when I really noticed that I couldn't concentrate and had trouble remembering.  Sometimes it would take me a minute to think up the name of a simple noun. I also noticed that the pain in my head increased when I would have to sit-up straight and still for long periods.
The only thing I've found that lessens the pain is eating alot and jogging several miles a day, basically keeping my body in a high energy state.  If I don't do this or just go for awhile without eating I can't concentrate at all, the pain all over my head skyrockets, I feel depressed and I can't think straight, and I start to feel like I'm sinking;  like I need to escape but I'm trapped.  Almost like my brain is being starved.
I've taken Advil and Ibuprofen but those don't help.  A month ago I saw a neuroligist and he perscribed Maxalt and then Butal for migraines, but those have no effect either.  I have had an MRI that came back clean.  I've also had a couple of standard blood tests at my doctor's office that didn't indicate I had long term hypoglycemia.  I've been a jogger for years who eats healthy.  If I have a vice, I think it's that I have been a heavy caffeine drinker on and off who might exercise too much.
All of this has me really stumped.  I found out from my mother she has a malformed jugular vein, so tomorrow I'm going to schedule another appointment with my neurologist and ask him about  this and low blood pressure.  I'm really scared about how I feel during the worst times and I know I can't work a desk job feeling like this.  Any help anyone can offer would be a godsend.

Hi there. I understand your condition as to how clueless you are with so many investigations done and the headaches persisting.
Since the MRI is normal, it rules out any tumor or aneurysm, hemorrhage, migraines are ruled out due to lack of response to therapy and no side preference. these headaches could be tension or stress related. These are mild to moderate constant band like pain, tightness or pressure around forehead or back of head or neck. These can last from 30 mins to several days. The severity increases significantly with its frequency. The pain is usually throbbing and affects the front, top or sides of the head. The causes are stress, going back to college, strenuous competition in sports, being overweight etc. management is painkillers, anti depressants, muscle relaxants, biofeedback and stress management. These medicines need to be prescribed by a neurologist after proper evaluation. You can discuss this with the neurologist as you go to him for the malformed jugular vein assessment. Take care and keep me posted.
