Dehydrated L5/S1 disc

I have a dehydrated L5/S1 disc that is causing great pain. I have read where platelet injections into the damaged area can give great relief as well as rehydrating and help to repair it. Is there anywhere in the US that this is done or is it something strictly done outside the United States? And does it work?
