Do I have TIA or Stroke?

i am 20 year old female uni student. 5 month ago, i have a numbness around my left side of head and throat with a pain behind my neck. For first two days i am absolutely normal, except the numbness and once difficulty to walk down the stairs. After 2 days of numbness, i couldn't think. i have difficulty answering question and difficulty understanding what i read and hear and doing. i forgot what i have seen and heard and difficulty explaining something. i loss my imagination and become unaware of my environment. i have difficulties catch up with my environment and peoples speach and i lost my knowledge. i have search the internet and i have the symptoms of TIA such as numbness and blurred vision on 1 side, lost peripheral vision, deafness on my left ear and i lost my logic thinking and so on. i do not seek for doctor until 3 weeks, the numbness gone, but i still feel like i'm living with one side of my head. after 3 months, i've seen the neurologist and take the test and i pass because the numbness has cured but i still have the difficulties and the deafness. because of the numbness has cured, he closed my case and didnt pay attention tht i cnt think. he assume tht i am stress. i got no idea whts going on and this will affect future life as i feel like i'm living like autism person.

Hi,

If the neurological exam and tests like MRI confirm the finding of stroke then you will be put on low dose aspirin and fibrinolytic therapy like heparin etc. You will also be asked to keep the risk factors for stroke under control like BP, cholesterol, blood sugar, body weight, smoking, alcohol consumption, and stress.

Hope this helps!

i believe i do not have migraine as i know what the migraine is. it is the numbness which i didnt know if i have the other side of my head without touching. I'm afraid they would take for granted my case as the symptoms are gone and what if i didn't have further check up? and what if i am positive, and what they will do?

Hi,

Your symptoms are very suggestive of stroke. I would suggest you to get an MRI done in order to confirm the diagnosis.
The possibility of migraine is also there. This certainly requires a re-evaluation and a second opinion. Please get it done as soon as possible.
