Electric Jolts Throughout Body

Hi, I am a 23 year old female and i have been experiencing electric like jolts that shoot up my spine, into my tongue, back of my head, and through out my body. They are light, but i noticed when i get sick they become more intense. Or if i do not take my Prozac it happens also. Currently i am sick right now, and they are the worst they've ever been. They cause me to have slight twitching where ever the jolt is, if its in my cheek and eye area i almost feel like i have to twitch my eyes (if that makes any sense). It happens so frequent and easily that just a simple quick glance with JUST my eyes will trigger it down my spine. As for any other somewhat dramatic movement (like a hard step, or quick movement of any limb) causes the same effect.

Also, if this helps, for the past few years I have experienced moments where my vision becomes trails. Kind of like when you take a picture of a moving car at night and the lights "follow" the car. It happens more when brighter lights are on, but it does happen with anything... for example..my hand. if i move it one way or another it can take up to 2 seconds for the trail to finally reach my hand. This has been happening before i started taking Prozac (for the record!).
I have told a doctor about it a few years ago, and he accused me of being on hallucinogens. Obviously, i am not, because if i was i probably wouldnt have even bothered to tell him. I have never taken hallucinogens, so that possibilty is squashed.

i have never been electricuted, but i honestly feel like this is what it must feel like. Its not particularly painful, its just very uncomfortable and only gets worse.
It runs throughout my entire body.

If anybody has any idea, what this may be...please respond.

Thank You,
Jade

Hi I am a 39 year old woman that has experienced somewhat the same thing that this lady did on this page!! Mine joltz only happen when i am trying to go to sleep! And they only shoot either through my head and truly feels a big zap that triggers me to raise my head really fast and scream!!! The other time that I have the joltz they are shooting down my spine!! The to start at my neck and run right down my spine and it jerks my back and again I scream and I think the only reason I scream is because it scares me!!! But on the days this happens the joltz continue on for as little as a hour to all night long and it only happens when I try to go to sleep!!  Now this is where I am different!!! I have learned when these are going to happen because during the day I start getting these feelings in my eyes down throughout my body and it truely feels like I have bugs crawling all of me!!! And I know you are probably thinking I am weird but I promise that it has been going on for over a year and I can't get anyone to listen to me either!!!

Hi,
The symptoms that you have mentioned are typical symptoms of Anxiety. You have mentioned that you get the symptoms when you do not take Prozac. It supports the possibility of worsening Anxiety attacks on not taking Prozac and being physically and emotionally stressed. The vision problems that you have experienced are also due to Anxiety attacks. Please consult a psychotherapist and a neurologist for proper treatment. Please keep yourself away from stress, exercise regularly, take adequate rest and a diet consisting of multivitamin and multimineral supplements. Changes in lifestyle help a lot in relieving the symptoms of Anxiety. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!
