Endone and TBI

Hello ,I was hit with an Iron bar in feb 06.
I sustained a sever TBI from the hit .
I have a right Frontal lobe injury , That has now healed to the point I have clear speech now , my memory is still not as good as it should be , but is very alot better than it was 2 years back.
Due to this injury I suffer from Chronic head Aches that never go away.
to date i have had a headache for 30 months and nothing I have been given has taken it away fully.
I was given Endone once in the past and it  gave me the best relief , It was still there but It took more than the edge off.
My question is is it ok to go back onto Endone ?
Will it slow down my recovery ?
Will it inhibit my cognition to a great extent?
Also how addictive is it ?
I am on Tramol at this stage and have been for over 2 years now .
It does nothing to stop the pain other than taking the over bearing edge off the pain.
I am using 100 mg slow release  and 50 mg fast release 3 times a day.
Thank you for you help .
Regards ,

I am alot better than when i got hit ! Back then I couldnt walk ,talk , my sight was doubled over and i could hardly hear.
My left arm and head also shook uncontrolably.
After rehab and alot of hard pushing by myself i now have a memory i can almost rely on.
My emotions can be controlled  to a greater extent.
My smell is still gone and my taste is very poor.
All the rest has settled down to an able bodied person.
This very persistant headache is my grestest consern now 2 1/2 years is long enough to put up with it without any real relief.

I cant thank you enough for you valued information on Endone .
I hate taking pills of any sort and have stopped the SSRI's and TCA's on my own .
I do need something for the pain though.

Thank you once again for your time and info I will post how things go if i manage to get a script for endone.

best wishes ,
Daz

Hi,

How are you?
Yes you can take endone. Endone can cause drowsiness, sleepiness and disorientation. One has to be careful while driving and operating heavy machinery. Avoid alcohol while on Endone.
Since Endone is a narcotic analgesic it has addiction liability. Please consult your physician about the dose and duration.
Endone should be withdrawn very slowly as there are chances of withdrawal symptoms if it is withdrawn suddenly. Take care!
