Approximately 11 months ago, I was diagnosed with mild sub-clinical hypothyroidism and am not on daily does of Synthyroid.
Approximately 5 months ago, I complained of extreme neck pain near my left lymph gland. An ENT physician confirmed with a neck CT that I had a condition called "Carotidynia" which is in the migrane family.
Last week, I had a pinched nerve in my back. My PCP ordered a neck x-ray and I was told that the Radiologist found a moderately enlarged sella turcica.
Question 1: With my history, is it more likely that this is empty sella? Is it possible that was was found was old damage from over 10 years ago since I have been symptom free?
Question 2: Given that I had a neck CT just five months ago, if the Sella Turcica was abnormal, wouldn't it have been seen in the CT?
My physician has sceduled an MRI for me and I proactively scheduled an appointment with my opthalmologist. I truly do not feel that the psuedotumor cerebri has returned.
