Extremem sudden dizzines

Hello,
I was wondering what this could be.  Every now and then -- about 2-3 times per month on average for the past 3 months I experience very sudden dizziness that lasts about 15 seconds or so.  It is so badwhen it happens that I can't get my bearings at all.  If it happened while driving I do not believe I could pull over.  It is that disorienting. It  clears up after 15 secs or so and I am left with a sort of dull pressure in the back of my head -- not pain or even that disrupting but its there for maybe 1/2 hr or so.  I also feel slightly off balance for the next hour or so.   I can not atrribute this to not eating, drinking, lack of sleep, low or high blood pressure or any of the obvious.  I am very concerned it some sort of seizure or brain tumor or something.   Any ideas on what this could be.  I am going to get an MRI to rule out my fears.

I get the same thing everyone once in awhile. My Dr didn't seem overly worried about it. Mine seems like a sudden rush to my head and I am disoriented for about 15 seconds and then it passes. I agree, if it happened when drving, I would have to pull over. After  you get your MRI, please let me know if they find anything. BTW have you ever had vertigo?
