I see them with eyes closed. Yes, both eyes. Another thing I realized lately is that when I walk fast for a long time, I almost always get them and more in intensity. And these are always for less than a min.
Recently I went to a neurologist who said this isn't migraine since migraine is always progressive and for more than 10 min. So he sent me for an EEG for occipital seizures. EEG came out normal. Then he ignored this as a fragment of my imagination and said something like, something might be falling on my eyelashes etc! Ridiculous but well... i don't know what to do now. Since 4 months old MRI was normal, EEG done a month ago is normal, hence everyone thinks this is some anxiety related! I don't think I have anxiety!
Hi,
How are you? What other symptoms are present? Do you experience these symptoms on both eyes? It is good that initial evaluation by your neurologist and eye test were fine. Ocular migraines may indeed present with vision problems and headache. However, a regular migraine with an aura can involve flashing lights and blind spots in the vision and this type affects not all but about 20% of people who have migraines. This suggests no definite or exact migraine symptoms. Sometimes, atypical migraines do not present with headache. Seeking another neurologist's opinion and a referral to an eye doctor may also be done. Take care and do keep us posted.
