I had a CT scan to check my diaphragm as I've been having difficulty taking deep breaths. It was a contrast CT and they used my port access to give me the contrast. After they were finished, they didn't flush the port, but just administered the heparin. After my IVIg treatments, they saline flush my port with two syringes before they do the heparin. I'm nervous about asking nurses to do something, as have had bad experiences with nurses needing to be right. So I was wondering if not doing the saline flush to clear the contrast dye from my port before the heparin would cause any issues?
