Hair tuft in New Born

Hi Doc,
My child is born just a week ago and the Paediatrics have found the hair tuft between the buttocks around 1 inch above the anus. Hairs are around 1 cm appearing from both the buttocks but not from spine. We have been told to wait for 6 weeks for xray. Appreciate if you could confrm is this spine bifidia or something else? I am very worried your help will be appreciated.
