Head Trauma and Anger

In May of this year I was in a pretty bad car accident.  I'm almost certain I blacked out from the impact of the car hitting me from behind.  Almost immediately after I noticed a huge change in my mood and my ability to control my anger and emotions.  It started with me crying uncontrollably then just feeling like I had no filter or way to control what I said or did.  This resulted in my behaving in ways I never have before and hurting someone I cared for deeply.
My question is, can a closed head injury or trauma to the brain cause someone to lose control like that?

I'm also looking for more info on a mild TBI. I was in bad car accident almost 8 mo. ago. The main concern from the beginning was my herniated discs in my back/neck/severe whiplash. Still working on managing those problems. But, I have been crying non stop since the accident. I can't understand why? My emotions are all  messed up. I'm angry..real angry and I can't always control it. I kinda feel like I have severe severe PMS every day. Now, all these Dr.'s later and time, my new Dr. said I have a mild traumatic brain injury and ptsd. He wants me to go to Cognitive therapy. My emotions are so uncontrollable I don't like going to my regular social things. I just never know what is going to set me off. Do you feel this way? It would be great to be able to talk w/ someone else who might be having this feelings.

Peace
K

I had a closed head injury 2 years ago and have lots of symptoms - both physical and emotional.  To answer your question - YES it can cause all these symptoms.  Consult a good NeuroPsychologist and they can evaluate you for all these issues.
